Submitting To Themes
As well as monthly contests the group will hold weekly themes.
Members are required to submit a piece, old or new, relating to the given theme. This differs from the contests which requires new work. Themes give you a chance to show off your skills and reach a wider audience.
Don't forget that this is not a contest and for this reason you don't need to make a polished work.
Send your submission via note, with 'Theme Submission' in the subject line, including the following information:
Title of entry
Description & keywords
Categories
A link to your entry
One entry per member.
All entries will be submitted to the gallery by ~zeaphyra for other members to comment and critique. If there are any problems regarding your entries please note the group and she will get back to you. For help with commenting and critiquing click here
Also, if you have any ideas for a theme note the group! We will be happy to receive new ideas and have active members. If you wish to write the theme for a week note us, you will receive 10 points if we decide to use it!
Thank you, ~Fairytale-Heart and ~zeaphyra

this contest was lacking willing critics, there was only one score given to our ~roaringpenguin! (not trying to be negative because it was a well deserving piece)
a critique is not a be-all end-all command, it is an educated opinion on what the piece should improve on, or where you think the piece has gone wrong. you dont have to be a lit scholar to give it, its like saying "you look good in that dress" or something, you dont have to be a fashion designer to say something like that. in the end, it is the writer who chooses whether or not to accept the criticism or reject it, and all competition pieces are up for praise as well as critique so dont feel shy or scared of people saying "omg stfu dis is how i f331!!1!!".
just a simplified explanation of criticism
PS. if you learn to crit other people's poetry, you will also know how to crit your own, making it a worthwhile skill for the future
