Submitting To Contests

There will be a contest each month. To enter the contest all you have to do is complete the writing task given and submit it via note with 'Contest Submission' in the subject line.

Remember to include:

Title of entry

Description & keywords

Categories

A link to your entry

This will make it easier for the submissions manager to post your work correctly.

Each contest will run for a month; three weeks to write a polished piece of work and one week of judging.

The aim is not to win a subscription or other virtual prize but to receive critique and be to let others view your work in the hope that they'll find pleasure in your words.

All submissions must be new writing to ensure that everyone gets a fair go at the contest. We give you time so take this as an advantage to explore your writing and produce something you will be proud of.

One submission per member please.

All entries will be submitted to the gallery by ~zeaphyra for other members to comment and critique. If there are any problems regarding your entries please note the group and she will get back to you. For help with commenting and critiquing click here.

Also, if you have any idea for a contest, note the group! We will be happy to receive new ideas and have active members. If you wish to write a complete contest note us, you will receive 50 points if we decide to use it!

Thank you, ~Fairytale-Heart & ~zeaphyra

I feel that insisting the submitted work is new writing will deter some people, such as myself, who (unfortunately) with a busy teaching job does not have the time for new writing, and furthermore, is best inspired on her own creativity rather than a contest topic.

Have you considered alternating the contests between new writings and previously submitted work? Besides, you're really going on the honor system to some extent, as many people choose very carefully what to submit to DA and what not to submit.

I love my friends, family, and soul-mate; they know who they are.
I also enjoy writing, and my gallery is full of writing.
